Agalas is a small mountainous village on the westcoast of Zakynthos Island, surrounded by pine trees and olive groves. In order to visit this place you have to head north towards the village of Volimes and beyond Lithakia village there is a turnoff leading to this rather small and rural place.
What distinguishes the village of Agalas from other villages on the island is its special architecture with old stone houses and narrow streets. The area is known for its local landmark which is the Cave of Damianos. This is a 2-storey cave filled with stalactites and stalagmites. But except for that vistors can also enjoy the surrounding nature, the Andronios wells, the church with the old bell, the windmills and the wonderful views over the Ionian Sea. Don't miss the chance to find a nice spot and watch the sunset that will leave you speechless.
It is with great sadness that we inform you that due to the recent wildfire in the Agalas area, Cave Damianos Sunset Resto Bar has been completely destroyed.
Unfortunately, this means that we will no longer be able to operate.
Guests with existing reservations will be contacted via email in the coming days for further information.
We want to sincerely thank each and every one of you for your support, friendship, and unforgettable moments over the years. ❤️
Our journey may have come to an end, but the memories will remain forever.
With heartfelt gratitude,
